So I choosed LiteCart which was one of the fastest I tried... But at same time I have some downloadable products that I'll need to handle manually. So that's why I wish to see this feature soon. Ho also I'll get rid of my blogging site which is also clunky and slow.. I found that lite cart make a pretty good blog platform I created a product category called blog that actually contain the post. I did not found a way to add comments so far but it's not a priority for me. I was willing to use something like patreon to support my youtube channel but now I think I'll use the store functionality to add a supporting or sponsoring price to post for those who want to support or sponsor..
user1868 Lähettäjä Tuntematon Jäsen alkaen jouluk. -0001 user1868 17 elok. 2015 20:54 Sory little bit long. But what I want to say or what I realised is ... digital goods don't just mean ""download"" in 2015... I just thought about this, While testing many cart solution I found that most cart that offer downloadable goods do it in a wrong way.. I mean they use a download section in the user account, ""okay but"" The file is usually not linked with the product page itself and it is virtually impossible publish an update of the product which is common for digital goods and also seriously digital good right now are not always something to download anyway. If you ever plan to add ""digital goods"" function it could be an idea to do it in a modern way, similar to steam/netflix where the product page become the ""news"" portal or the product itself. What I try to say is we need to think that the ""product page"" is the actual digital good by itself once it's bought or subscribed to, we get anything that was associated with it, the download or the display of x,y,z content is actually a side effect of buying the page. Maybe nobody think this way when they code the system because physical good are really not linked or related to the page. But for digital good's we can think in a reverse way ... The page is the good that contain what we bought. It should be possible to update the buyable content or files .. Also it should be available with option for things like deluxe edition.. For the a logic point of views I think it could be implemented like this once the page is bought it show or list some additional content .. or maybe categorised content to make it more flexible and get the possibility to buy multiple thing at once. But still it should have the flexibility of putting anything digital. because it's hard to predict what people want to sell and digital don't just mean ""buy and download"" it could also mean stream read display or anything else that can be viewed or used directly online or can be subscribed to. While at it .. Also maybe you can add a simple checkbox to any product that hide the add to cart and product information stuff so anything could be transformed into a blog or news post without additional plug in or module. I'm saying that because it's what I want to do .. for years.. and right now it's only possible by using tons of plugins or external services and it quickly become a buggy mess with most platform. But at same time every company that have some success online with selling digital good usually think this way and they most likely alway use their own system. For some reason nobody have implemented something like this as standard feature in the billion available blog or cart platform. And i'm not sure why. I was wondering if it was because it's to difficult to implement. But it dont look like that hard to implement as standard function as long as the one who build the system have the intention to do it this way from the start. Also I say that to you because you obviously had implemented the most effective option in litecart. It's why I think maybe you are the one that can do something modern simple but effective for digital goods too. So the only thing remaining that might need some kind of plug in is software and video games.. that usually have some kind of drm. But it's also something that someone might want to think about because i'm pretty sure that a cart with a kind of user/password DRM activation or keygen built in. One that come maybe with a dll or a wrapper for the software executable would have a really high added value.
