Home Delivery Addon

Hi.

I'm new to LiteCart & the forum.
I am in need of a little help. I need to offer home delivery locally limited by post code area at one price then further away at another price, for example within 30 miles it's a fixed price else it's charged at £1 per mile. Is this possible to work or am I just hoping.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can use google maps to determine the distance between you and the customer postcode. Google Maps offers a distance matrix API and 100 000 queries per month for free.

Sorry to ask such a stupid question but how would I integrate google maps distance matrix into the Home Delivery add on?

If you want to do this yourself but have no web developing skills, a starter would be to follow some guides and tutorials to get a good understanding of things. Hosting and modifying your own platform does require some programming knowledge. Try getting a hold on a friend or someone who knows developing who can help you out. There are also freelancers who can do this for a fair payment.

New to Litecart and working my way through it, very happy with what I'm seeing so far but would like a little help as my patience is not the greatest :)

I'm probably in the same position as Michael in that we deliver and install our products to a home address, cost for this service Id like to base on the mileage from our base to the customers address. Is this add on suitable to do this and add the delivery/install cost to the customer invoice on check out ?

If so, any volunteers to make this for me, paid of course ?

A shipping module using Google Maps Distance Matrix API should be written from scratch and not based on some other add-on. You would probably want other conditions such as maximum distance by road, hourly rate, and rate by distance.
