Nice add on. What if there is more than one keyword.

I'm actually changing it from keywords to three new new columns in the product_info table, one for the text, one for the text color, and one for the background color.  That way every product could have their own color theme.  I think that this will be ready in a day or two.

I started this to try to debug another add-on I'm working on that let you specify the order that products are listed with a sort by option of 'featured', which is working OK I think for the category list, but not the product search list.  I was hoping that it could help me track down the issue.  (demo)  But now it's just totally screwed up again.  (Oh well, I think that's life as a LC newbie)

Interesting. I use several key words for my food products. for example I might use: VEGAN, VEGETARIAN, HALAL. Wonder if your add on would display all the keywords or just one?

It would print out whatever you entered in the sticker text input box in the product information page of the dashboard.  I may have a button to populate all the products with the keywords or visits or purchases or something, I'm not sure yet. Maybe a button to clear out all text entries.  Or maybe just clear/populate by category.  I'll be listening for suggestions as I work on improving it.

While contemplating the new upgrade for the sticker add-on, I've decided that the approach that I outlined before probably isn't a best practices way to go.  I saw @alins post about .csv issues, and although now fixed, it reminded me that I have had issues with .csv import myself. Of course the first time it was pilot error because I didn't select either of the new or overwrite radio buttons, but the other 'fatal' error that said that it was unable to determine delimiters could be because I added an extra field to the product table. Maybe that's what confused things. I'm still not familiar enough with the platform to know if this is really the case or not, but my gut says that I shouldn't mess with core DB tables unless it's necessary.  At first I thought it would be good, to have the sticker data incorporated right beside the rest of the product data.  But having it in the dashboard catalog page makes some of what I was hoping to do much more difficult.

So now my attack plan is to set up a different table completely for the sticker information.  This may offer benefits on several levels. One is that it will be easier to uninstall the add-on cleanly, just delete the table instead of deleting columns from the core product DB. I would like to have 10 or 20 user defined color sets for the sticker colors, and the ability to choose to use that color set for all products in a certain category, price range, stock quantity, checked products from a list, and so on. All these dreams could take a fair amount of screen real estate, so I think an admin app would be a better way to go. Especially when Tim releases v3 and it contains a dashboard upgrade that would really give me a headache. I want to try to avoid the 'Todays solution is tomorrows problem' Syndrome.

The good news is I still think it should only take a couple of days to get an upgrade ready.

I've published an upgrade and changed the add-on name since it no longer depends on the keywords column.  I have a couple of ideas for an backend admin, but my business consultant/friend convinced me to leave more development on this add-on alone until the SortSupervisor and Product-Recommender are published.  I'm working on a "cheat-sheet" of MySQL commands to set groups of products, they will be posted at https://StickerShock.info/lite

More changes...new name, new price, new features.

I think you'll like it.

I'm working on an information page that will be at https://litecart-stickers.info/

And a demo frontend at https://litecart-stickers.info/demo/

I'll add a couple more demos to show different uses (by category, by price levels, etc)

The actual expiration date of the special $24.95 offer is when the 'future updates' are finished, or that feature is removed from the list due to technical difficulties encountered.  People who purchase and participate in a 'Beta Tester Survey' will receive a discount code that can be applied to future add-on purchases.

Another change, the reduced price will be effective until Nov 11 as originally stated.  A teammate convinced me it wouldn't be nice to withdraw a special offer 'just because'.  I hate trying to argue with someone smarter than me, I always lose.  But the flip side is that when I listen it usually works out better for me.  So the special will remain in effect until Nov 11.

I now have a new mod that adds a column to the catalog listing page showing any data entered in the sticker text field.  I think I may add another option in settings to turn this feature on and off.  And I'm going to continue to work on a vMod version.  With more and more changes being made to the core files, this seems more important than ever, so I've kicked it up a couple of notches on my to-do list.
